Our Beliefs

We Believe:

In an inclusive, equal opportunity society.

In respect for all groups in our society.

In caring for our elderly.

In providing the means for our young people to develop and flourish in business, in sport, in ownership and in their chosen careers.

In the inborn worth of the individual as one of the richest assets of our nation.

In not criminalising our youth over a few grams of marijuana; that is why we passed a law decriminalising such possession.

In parliamentary democracy in which the people choose and change their government and legislature freely.

In Government that is accountable and transparent in its affairs.

In Government being responsive so that it meets its obligations to all its citizens.

In the creation of wealth and the promotion of an entrepreneurial spirit amongst all our people.

In facilitating foreign direct investment while encouraging and helping investment by our citizens so that they occupy an important space in our country’s economy.

In treating our business community with fairness and respect, encouraging their profitability and expecting them to meet their due obligations to the nation.

In training and educating our people to own, to manage and to hold decision-making positions in all areas of our society.

In providing health care from the cradle to the grave so that no person wants for medical attention and medicines to enhance their quality of life.

In ending and preventing child abuse and creating an environment of child care and protection.

In gender equality and in the rights of men and women to equal pay, equal access to jobs, equal qualification for promotion.

In respect for women in our society and in ending all forms of violence against them.

In a just and humane society where those who cannot provide for themselves can live in dignity.

In the freedoms of thought, worship, speech, association and choice.

In the rule of law and justice, giving all citizens equal rights under the law and the responsibilities to maintain it.

In a secure and safe society, free from crime and corruption; and in providing the means to prevent these activities and punish their persistence.
